The biggest news for the 2027 Grand Sport is in its engine. Chevy debuts a 6.7-liter small-block V8, known as the LS6. It delivers 535 ponies and 520 lb-ft, making it the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 used in a standard 'Vette to date. Power drives to the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic. We don't know much about it just yet, but you can also expect a hybrid version--Grand Sport X--which adds all-wheel drive.
Blurring the line between daily use and capability on the track. The Sport now features Magnetic Ride Control, Michelin Pilot Sport tires (all-season), and upgraded brakes that reduce dust and hold up better over the long haul.
From there, you can take things further depending on how track-focused you really want the car to be. The Z52 Sport Performance package adds a firmer suspension setup, summer tires, and upgraded iron brakes borrowed from the Z06. Move up another level, and the Track Performance package features carbon-ceramic brakes, Michelin Cup 2R tires, and more aggressive aerodynamic pieces like a larger front splitter, dive planes, and a rear wing. Chevy also introduces an available quad center-exit exhaust.
Design Tweaks Tying the Grand Sport to the Z06
The Grand Sport borrows from the wider Z06 bodywork, with its larger air intakes and a more aggressive stance. Chevy keeps the traditional Grand Sport hash marks, although they now sit on the rear fenders to emphasize the C8's mid-engine proportions. Admiral Blue Metallic returns with a new color, Pitch Gray Metallic. Chevy pairs both with optional center stripes and wheel finish choices.
Inside, the Grand Sport keeps the cabin largely performance-focused, and Chevy adds model-specific touches throughout. For example, buyers can opt for the Performance Traction Management system, which allows drivers to fine-tune traction and handling settings depending on road or track conditions.
Chevy also offers a special Launch Edition package to the 'Vette that adds a Santorini Blue interior with red accents, special badging, and stitched graphics on the headrests and floor mats. The package is more appearance-focused, but it helps separate the first-year cars from the rest of the lineup.
